Public Documentation Promise

Last Updated: March 2, 2026

Our Approach

This document explains what we share publicly and what we protect. Our goal is to help users understand and use SquadUp effectively while safeguarding what makes our product distinctive.

Our public docs should also reflect the SquadUp philosophy: Stumble Forward. Still Counts. We write for real users on real days, including the messy ones.

What We Share

Our public documentation provides:

  • Feature descriptions and capabilities
  • Getting started guides
  • User FAQs and troubleshooting
  • Philosophy and principles
  • Glossary of terms
  • Legal and privacy information

This content helps users get value from SquadUp without requiring technical knowledge.

What We Protect

To maintain our competitive position and protect our innovations, we do not publish:

  • Internal algorithm details or scoring formulas
  • AI prompt templates or coaching logic
  • Technical architecture specifics
  • Unreleased feature plans
  • Revenue or business strategy
  • Internal implementation details

Why This Matters

This approach allows us to:

  • Protect our intellectual property
  • Provide clear user-focused guidance
  • Continue developing innovative features
  • Maintain quality standards

How We Write

Our documentation follows these principles:

  • Explain what and why, not internal mechanics
  • User-centric language over technical jargon
  • Describe outcomes, not processes
  • Maintain professional, clear tone
  • Use Skunkology terms consistently when they help: Friction, Dip Mode, Momentum Loop, Tiny Wins, Mind Sweep, Library, Quick Stash, and SkunkCoach
  • Treat missed days, restarts, and low-energy use as normal product moments
  • Avoid shame-heavy productivity language
  • Make Tiny Wins and returns feel legitimate
